On Friday the 4th March, representatives from seven churches of Rockhampton joined together at St Joseph’s Cathedral to celebrate the World Day of Prayer.
On Sunday 27 February, the Rite of Election for catechumens from the Rockhampton parishes took place at Holy Family Church, Rockonia Parish, with Bishop Michael McCarthy presiding.
Briona McKone was a large-hearted, passionate, competent, humble woman. She cared for her husband and sons with a deep intense faith. She also served the Capricorn coast Parish for ten years as secretary. She was taken from us far too soon.

Our long-serving Catechists have been recognized for their dedication and commitment to the Ministry of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton recently.
Even after 9 children the feeling of anticipation and joy that is felt during pregnancy does not wane. I remember saying during my latest pregnancy that, “I am just as excited to meet this baby as I was with my first.”
All three Catholic primary schools in Rockhampton’s Cathedral Parish of St Joseph welcomed new principals this year, each enthusiastically embracing their role of leading their school communities.
