The year has been off to a turbulent beginning – with the COVID wave, unrest in the Ukraine and natural disasters affecting a large portion of the east coast
On Monday 4 April 2022, Sisters of Mercy gathered in St Joseph’s Cathedral with Frs Bryan Hanifin and Andrew Hogan to celebrate the Funeral Mass for Sister Betty Attard March 2022. Many family members travelled from Mackay for the occasion, including Sr Betty’s two surviving sisters, Stella Bartolo and Patty Borg and sister-in-law Bernadette Attard.
This year in the North Rockhampton Catholic Parishes we have six wonderful children who are preparing to receive sacraments in June.
A career spanning more than five decades has seen Shalom College teacher, Jeanette Wedemeyer, weather the twists and turns of life with faith and dedication in a vocation she loves.
The parish community can help support, encourage, and nourish the growth of the family as the evangelisers they are meant to be.
Our story of Parish has been formed through the personal experience of our family.
Rebecca was recognized for pioneering health services for rural and remote families. She has established the first private, child health nurse-led service to be delivered online in Queensland. Rebecca has won a $15,000 grant to further her work and is now a national finalist in running for a further $20,000.
