    For the past four months I have been gathering oral and documented histories of the Rockhampton Diocese from the near extreme boundaries of this vast diocesan territory – from Mackay to Bundaberg and out to Longreach and Isisford.

  • Feast of Our Lady of Victories, Mackay

    The Feast of Our Lady of Victories was celebrated last Friday night at St Francis Xavier Church. About 200 people, led by Fr Don White, attended the celebration.

  • In Loving Memory of Ernie Trevaskis

    Ernie Trevaskis had served the diocese of Rockhampton for many years in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ministry. He passed away on the 13th August. Bishop Emeritus Brian Heenan wrote this tribute.

  • In Loving Memory of Br GP ‘Rocky’ Rochford

    A story was shared with me from Deb Bolam, long time Shalom staff member and friend of Rocky.  On an earlier occasion when Brother had returned to Bundaberg after a serious battle with Cancer, Deb asked him if he was afraid of dying.  He responded, ‘No because I’ve seen what heaven is like.  It’s like being at Shalom.’
