Incorporated under the Roman Catholic Trust Corporation for the Diocese of Rockhampton, CatholicCare Central Queensland is the trading name for the welfare arm of the Catholic Church in the Diocese. CatholicCare has Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status.

The CatholicCare Council is responsible for the governance of CatholicCare. In accordance with the Mission, Values and Philosophy of CatholicCare the Council sets policy, leads significant strategy and oversees the strategic decisions and management activities of the organisation.

The CatholicCare Council provides advice to the Bishop in relation to strategy and advises the Diocesan Director in relation to management and operational matters.  The CatholicCare Council is accountable to the Bishop. Members of the Council and the Chair are appointed by the Bishop for a period of time determined by the Bishop.

The CatholicCare Council has two subcommittees, Finance and Risk Management, to support the governance. Members of sub committees of Council are appointed by the Council.

The CatholicCare Finance Committee investigates, consults and advises on financial aspects of CatholicCare’s operations. All CatholicCare Finance Committee recommendations are considered through the CatholicCare Council. The CatholicCare Risk Management Committee investigates, consults and advises on risk management aspects of CatholicCare ’s operations.  All CatholicCare Risk Management Committee recommendations are considered through the CatholicCare Council.
