The Mater Hospital and Blanket Buddies celebrated significant milestones. We celebrated the Feast of Mary MacKillop. And welcomed a musical equipment. As well the face-lift of the Holy Rosary’s ground continues.
Sacraments are central celebrations in our Church. In the past month we rejoiced in the Confirmation of our young people and the Wedding of James Wood and Shona O’Keeffe.
In late June the COVID restrictions changed to permit buffet food. The St Brigid’s community in Longreach celebrated with a morning tea after their one Sunday morning Mass of the month (other Masses are Vigils). This pleasantly coincided with a visit from two Seminarians from the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Sang and Sean.
St Joseph’s Mackay farewelled Kath Woodruff and her husband Gerry. Des Crowe gave a moving reflection at the Mackay Mens Club Dinner.
Both ends of the Parish were delighted that we could now have our gatherings after Mass. Confirmations and First Communions could go ahead. Sacred Heart had a delightful visit from the Prep and Year 1 students of St Benedict’s. Cath Ed Week was celebrated at St Brendan’s College.
