Women, Wit & Wisdom – Celebrating International Women’s Day
19 March, 2024The second annual Women, Wit & Wisdom event was held last Thursday evening to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Organised by St Ursula’s College Alumni Committee and supported by St Ursula’s College and the Parent Engagement Network, more than 70 people attended Sacred Heart Church Yeppoon’s Community Room to hear Gabrielle Keating, Helena Williams, Tink Boyd, and Bronwyn Dendle – all St Ursula’s College, Yeppoon alumni – share their experiences.
Led in conversation by ABC Deputy Regional Editor for Queensland, Chrissy Arthur, the panelists, whose backgrounds ranged from Social Work (Bronwyn), Rural General Medicine (Gabrielle), Music Ministry and Teaching (Tink) to RAAF Squadron Leader (Helena), provided insight into their lives and their respective journeys since graduating from St Ursula’s College.
The stories and experiences shared by the panellists highlighted the courage and strength of women, especially when faced with challenges.
College alumni, Anna McPherson, of The Agency Yeppoon, generously donated the evening’s raffle prize.
