Gladstone Mercy Associates

Our vision statement is:

Mercy Associates are called to live and share the compassion and mercy of God – revealed in the life of Jesus Christ, in Scripture and through the vision and charism of Catherine McAuley.

Recently in Sydney, a small group of Associates from all over Australia, reflected upon our challenging but inspirational time ahead, as we journey into an unknown future without Sisters of Mercy.  It will be vital that each ‘group’ wherever they exist and as individuals, through our ‘works’ and ‘being’, continue to be guided by the mercy values of compassion, justice, hospitality and hope.

Here in Gladstone, we are continuing to meet from February till November each first Saturday of the month.  We are celebrating 30 years of service to the S.O.S. Parish and Gladstone community in June.  Hopefully many past Mercy Associates will come back to celebrate with us.

SOS Youth Led Stations of the Cross

The young people of parish walked with the parishioners in the steps of Jesus’ journey to the cross. At the beginning of Lent, the young people had a brief teaching on LENT and the Stations of the Cross. After a second practice, they led the parish through a beautiful and meaningful service. They finished the evening with families and youth gathering for some fellowship and games.
