2021 Ignite Conference

After being cancelled in 2020, Ignite Conference is back in 2021, and our diocese is going to be there!

What is Ignite Conference?

Ignite Conference is an annual Catholic youth conference held in Brisbane and run by Ignite Youth. It’s a four-day event featuring real-world formation, encouragement in faith, great people and powerful worship. Details for 2021

Ignite Conference is taking place from the 22nd to the 25th of September, however for those from Mackay, Blackwater, Emerald or further west, your journey will go from the 21st to the 26th of September. Ignite Conference is open to people of all ages however only adults and high school students will be able to travel and stay with our Diocesan group. Families are welcome to register and arrange their own transport and accommodation. We will have two buses leave from Mackay and Gladstone that will also stop to pick up participants at Rockhampton and Gin Gin (for participants from Bundaberg or the Valleys Region).

To register with our group, you will need to use the following codes:

For adult participants the code is ROKAdult

For high school students, the code is ROKHigh

Neither of the codes are case sensitive. To register go to https://app.tickets.org.au/iy/IC21BNE. Enter the code in the coupon code field at the top of the page. Fill out the appropriate registration details which will be Ignite High – Diocese of Rockhampton Group for high school students or Ignite Adults – Diocese of Rockhampton Group for young adult participants or leaders. Then select the ‘place order’ button at the bottom of the page to complete your order.

Cost

Because we are travelling together as a group, I have been able to secure a discounted registration fee as well as cheap simple accommodation (in sleeping bags on floors at a nearby school). When registering the cost will show as $0.00, however once I have the final numbers and we are sure that the conference will be going ahead, participants will be invoiced up to a maximum of $300 for the whole trip. Some parishes may also provide sponsorship or fundraising and this will be factored into the amount that participants from that parish will be invoiced. Participants will also need to bring money to purchase three meals while travelling (four if travelling from Mackay).  All other meals are provided at the conference and included in your registration fee.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends, find out more about the Catholic faith, and experience church in a completely new way. Many of the young people who have attended Ignite Conference previously have found it the highlight of their year and an experience that impacted their life for the better.
