News from North Rockhampton
14 September, 2022The Children’s Liturgy program has recommenced at Holy Family Church. The children enjoy a time our of the Mass to learn the meaning of the readings of the day.
Over the past 12 months the three North Rockhampton churches. St Mary’s, Our Lady Help of Christians and Holy Family, have all been undergoing maintenance, some planned and others the result of storm damage over recent years. The most recent has seen the Holy Family Church parishioners thankful for the fiscal planning of the Finance Committee enabling the recent major lighting upgrade within the church, as well as the installation of a new Clavinova electronic piano. The external lighting is also due to be upgraded shortly and this will enable parishioners to attend evening Mass and functions in safety and utilise the outdoor areas of the church. These investments in the ongoing maintenance of the church building is a reflection of the strong community at our churches.
Many church members have also been attending the recent rounds of training being offered to Eucharistic Ministers, Readers, Welcomers & Hospitality providers. This will be marked by the return of monthly morning teas following the Children’s Mass on the 4th Sunday of the month. As parishioners retire or move on, we are always looking for fresh faces to take up the roles of Readers, Eucharistic Ministers and Welcomers to name a few, so please, if you would like to become involved, just talk to your Mass organiser or Parish Office.
