Mackay Men’s Dinner
Chairman Kevin McEvoy welcomed everyone including new guests Fr Gasper and Seminarian Grant Sullivan. The prayer to Mary Mackillop our patron, was then read. Rex Fraser gave the reflection. Fr Gasper said Grace.
The dinner was held at the City Bowls club and this place will continue to be our dinner meeting place next year. An excellent meal was served.
On this occasion no specific guest speaker was arranged, instead every member was offered to be the speaker for a couple of minutes each. It was a fun night with most of the members sharing jokes, witty poems, hobbies such as learning the art of painting, wise health information and other humorous information. The Christmas freeby raffle was drawn and our treasurer Keith Brown won a bottle of wine. Our chairman mentioned our member Mick Tweddle reached a milestone birthday turning 80 during the previous week. Everyone applauded. He is now an Octogenarian.
To finish off the night, it was decided to donate money to St Vincent De Paul towards cost of hampers.
A fun filled night was enjoyed by all. Visitors, new members and Clergy are always welcome. Our next dinner will be on Monday 31st January 2022.
