News from the Capricorn Coast Parish
16 May, 2023As we journey through our Easter Season, remembering all God has done for us, we put our confidence in Jesus, not in circumstances. Our Christian life is meant to make a difference!!
Help from St Ursula’s College
Members of the parish offer a Liturgy most Friday mornings at the Capricorn Adventist Village. Often we have a full room of residents, who enjoy the power point presentation which includes clear graphics with all the words to the liturgy and the hymns, along with beautiful pictures and music. Denis Murphy has put this programme together and St Ursula’s College has supplied the laptop that we use. When the old laptop died recently, the school not only supplied another but also sent along a spare which we hope to use when we can resume the service at Capricorn Gardens.
Sacramental Program
Our children and their families are enjoying continuing their journey of faith and understanding of God’s love and presence.
Farewell
The Sacred Heart Gardening and Maintenance Group farewelled two of our faithful and very involved, parishioners – Steve and Jill Egan. They will be sadly missed. We wish them God’s richest blessings for their new chapter of life.
Mothers’ Day
On Mother’s Day, every mother at Mary Immaculate and Sacred Heart were given a beautiful corsage made by Tess Beard and her team the day before. At the end of Mass, all mothers were called to the front of the Church to receive a blessing and prayer given by all.
Visiting Priests
Recently, three Priests from overseas have joined us in the Diocese of Rockhampton. Fr Raju from the Cochin Diocese in India and Fr Samuel & Fr Kingsley from Umuahia Diocese in Nigeria. As part of Fr Samuel & Fr Kingsley’s induction & orientation to the Diocese, they will be staying with Fr Matthew for a few weeks.
We welcome them to the Capricorn Coast.
Here are some photos from their stay here.
