To help stave off the winter chill and make a difference in the lives of others, students and staff at The Cathedral College recently banded together to prepare meals for families in the Rockhampton community doing it tough.
Around 35 students and staff gave their time and energy to prepare 150 nutritious and hearty meals that would later be distributed through the St Vincent de Paul Support Centre who provide a wide range of support for those living through challenging circumstances.
The College holds a Vinnies Cook-Up once a term and to purchase the ingredients students run a Car Wash to raise funds. This social justice action and outreach in the local community is an important part of College life, and through the College’s Stewardship program it gives students an opportunity to share their unique talents and time to help make a positive difference in the lives of many.
