Catechumens and Candidates
On Sunday 24th of November, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, a special welcome was extended to the RCIA Candidates, Catechumens, their sponsors and members of their families at St Francis Xavier Church.
After the gathering hymn, Father Matthias welcomed the Candidates and Catechumens and celebrated the Rite of Acceptance and the Rite of Welcoming.
Memorial Mass
On Friday the 29th November Fr Matthias with Fr Anthony celebrated a Memorial Mass at St Patrick’s Church in Mackay. Families who had lost loved ones throughout the year were invited to the Mass. Families were given a candle and came forward when their loved ones names were read out. The candles were lit from the Paschal Candle.
Pre-Christmas Celebrations
Fr Matthias met with a number of Parish Groups to thank them for their service in the Parish and wish them the joys of the Christmas Season. Without their help, our parish wouldn’t be the Church that it is.
On Thursday 28th of November, Fr Matthias hosted a St Mary’s Parish Volunteer Christmas Thank You get together.
