News from Gladstone

19 July, 2025

Agnes Catholic Church’s 20th Anniversary celebration was an intimate and joyful event. One of the blessings of our close-knit faith community is that there is always a familiar and friendly face to be found at our shared luncheons. As well as a time for joy and worship, several Gladstone local Mass goers made sure to make the trip to scenic Agnes Waters for this special event.

Our youth team thoroughly enjoyed their night of laser tag. The theme of the night was a very fitting “What are you aiming for?”. During the evening our young people enjoyed listening to the recent words of Pope Leo XIV where he calls us to “live as participants in our faith community” and reminding us that through service we too can find true meaning in our lives.

Despite Gladstone facing some record freezing temperatures the beautiful volunteers who work our coffee shop made sure to keep the refreshments warm, and it is a joy to see the community gather in friendship even in the bitterness of winter. There is nothing quite like the love of a Christ filled community to warm the soul.

Our parish is also in busy preparation for the first holy communion of a wonderfully large number of young persons this July. Our parishioners will no doubt make sure that there is plenty to share for the celebration of welcoming so many into full communion of our faith.

Other groups meeting this month include:

  • Cenacle Prayer Group meeting on Wednesdays
