In view of the upcoming Centenary celebrations beginning the week of 13 of November Star of the Sea church has had some wonderful renovations for the baptistry area and the sanctuary.

If anyone is interested in purchasing some memorabilia we have quite a few on offer.

And finally our prayer offering on this most auspicious occasion.

Family Group ‘Christmas in July’ event.

There was a good rollup again for what has become a yearly feast for our family group. Thanks to a few skilled co-ordinators and the contributions from those attending we had a lavish feast of hot meats and vegetables followed by the traditional fruit puddings, custards and icecream. Much hilarity followed with the opening of presents from the Secret Santa.

St Peter Chanel Family Group Annual Campout

About 20 parishioners from the St Peter Chanel community recently enjoyed a camp at Cania Gorge Retreat. Although the majority opted for the comfort of the onsite cabins, a few stayed in caravans and one, a roof top camper!  We were blessed with beautiful weather which allowed us to enjoy the outdoors. Activities included exploring the trails of the National Park, bird feeding, lawn games, crafts, cards and sharing the evening campfire.

The weekend provided lots of opportunities to mix and mingle and to share meals; to get to know each other and enjoy time together.
