Thanksgiving with Fr Ashwin
Fr Ashwin Acharya who had spent much of his time as a deacon serving in the parish, returned for a Mass of Thanksgiving. He lead a Eucharistic Procession through the town.
Br Kevin cfc, originally from Emerald, and who has served at St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon, where Fr Ashwin went to school, came home for the celebration.
Seminarians visit
The Central Highlands had the pleasure of hosting Seminarians, Grant Sutherland and Will Brennan to our region. Grant is a first year Seminarian from our Diocese, he comes from Alton Downs and attended The Cathedral College. Will is a Seminarian from the Townsville Diocese but was actually baptised in Emerald and his visit presented the opportunity of catching up with friends, family and parishioners. During their stay they accompanied Frs Truc and Yon to Springsure, Gemfields, Blackwater, Dingo and Woorabinda for Masses and daily ministry. Before departing they attended St Patrick’s team meeting with parish staff, Francie Hartley and Catherine Chapman and Frs Truc and Yon.
