News from Clermont

12 July, 2022

After an absence of two years Mass was celebrated at Montcler Nursing Home Clermont. After meeting with Mrs Claudia Stephenson the Diversional Therapist at Montcler, a date was set for our first Mass. On Wednesday 22nd June parishioners from St Mary’s Parish and Year Six Students from St Joseph’s School joined the residents of Montcler with Father Jomon to celebrate the first Mass. It was during Mass Father Jomon anointed the residents with the Oil of the Sick.

The dates for the celebration of Mass have been set for the third Wednesday of the month.

During the year, the residents sent a letter to the students sharing their experiences of primary school. At the conclusion of Mass the Year Six students presented the residents with their experience of school in the present, in the form of a book. The students of Year Three and Year Four also shared some of their work in the form of art and sent it along with the Year Six students.

The lovely residents were delighted that the children had taken time to share their experiences and to remember them and also to join with them in celebrating the Eucharist.
