St James’s Morning Tea Anniversary

On the first Sunday of each month, following the 7.00am Mass, the St James’ community at Bargara gathers for morning tea.
On October 6, the community celebrated twenty-five years of such gatherings.  The social event has taken different formats, but the constant has been the support and welcome each receives from fellow parishioners.
Congratulations to a special few who have been organisers and participants for a large percentage of that twenty-five years.

Shalom College 40 years celebration

On Sunday, October 13, the 5.30pm Mass was one of thanksgiving for the forty years since Shalom College opened its doors for students from the former Christian Brothers High School and Loyola College with full integration of all classes in 1985.
Present and past Shalom students and staff were involved in the fitting liturgy which gave thanks for the many blessings received by the Parish and Bundaberg community through the educational excellence and service provided by the College.
Long may the College continue its commitment to furthering God’s Mission.

Ministry Training

Following the recent renewal of Stewardship of Gifts, Time, and Talents, various ministries conducted training sessions.
All who had nominated for these ministries received instruction as well as support as they continued or began the ministry.
It was pleasing that more than two hundred and eighty parishioners have nominated to serve in our more than ninety ministries.

Public Rosary

On Saturday 12th October a public rosary was held at St Patrick’s Church. The rosary devotion is prominent in all our churches and is especially fostered during the month of October.

Passionist Family Group

Another successful lunch was held by the MacKillop group recently.
There will be big celebrations next year when the groups celebrate 25 years of the Movement in Bundaberg.
