Lunch with Priests and Religious

It has become a welcome tradition for the Bishop to host a gathering of the priests and religious of the diocese. This year the celebration was at the Red Lion Hotel, Rockhampton on the 22nd June. After praying together, we enjoyed a delightful meal but, more importantly, a chance to chat with friends we so rarely see given the size of our Diocese. The gathering provides an opportunity to congratulate those priests and religious who are celebrating significant anniversaries in the year and to acknowledge the service of all our priests and religious to our Diocese. We were also able to welcome Fr Anthony Nguyen, a priest new to us from Vinh Diocese in Vietnam. He had arrived the day before. We hope that this experience of community remains with him as he serves in our diocese.
