St Vincent De Paul Festival

On Sunday 7th April, St Vincent de Paul members from the Rockhampton Region gathered at Sacred Heart Church, Yeppoon, for their Festival.  After the celebration of Mass, they shared morning tea with the local parishioners followed by their meeting.

Fr Matthew Moloney had commented at Mass that this group of Vincentians represented  over 1,000 years of community service.  During the meeting Length of Service Awards were given to a number of people.

Those who received awards were

  • Mary-Therese Keeling – 5 years
  • John Grimes – 5 years
  • Mary O’Donnell – 5 years
  • Annette Williams and Rick Williams – 20 years
  • John Bulmer – 25 years
  • Laurence Griffin – 30 years
  • Neil Dwyer – 35 years
  • Joan Ellaway – 40 years
  • Franklin Wood – 45 years
  • Peter Conaghan – 65 years
  • Recognition of Dedication Award – Peter Conaghan

James Hodge, Director of Mission for Queensland, gave an inspirational reflection on Fraternity, Community and Dangerous conversations.
