Parish Feast Day
On 11 September Star of the Sea Parish celebrated Parish Feast Day!
Straight after Mass there was fellowship and morning tea and a feast available. 
While people were eating there was entertainment (with loudspeakers), and an ongoing “Spotify” playlist. A craft station was set up and soccer ball for more energetic kids.
There were performances by school children and Fr Ashwyn.
Mercy Day
On Tuesday 27th September, the Gladstone Mercy Associates celebrated their Mercy Day Mass at which they made their three yearly Recommitment. Our celebrant was Fr Andrew Chase and present were Srs Beryl Amedee and Grace Bartolo, Fr Ashwin Acharya as well as the Queensland Network Coordinator for the Mercy Associates, Margaret Trevethan. As it was also the Memorial Mass for St Vincent de Paul, many Vincentians joined in our Eucharistic celebration.
Those Mercy Associates who are not able to actively attend gatherings but are in Prayer Ministry, will be forwarded their Honorary Certificates soon. To commemorate the day and to give thanks to all those present, a Prayer card was presented by Margaret. It was followed by a meal at the Reef Hotel. An enjoyable evening was ‘had’ by all.
