New Look Newsletter attached to Award-Winning Website

17 May, 2021

As Bishop Michael said in his introduction, this newsletter now has over 1200 subscribers and the list continues to grow.  Till now we have been well served by Schoolzine in formatting and distributing this newsletter but the time had come when we believed it was time to link the newsletter more closely with the diocesan website.  The award-winning diocesan website.  Yes, our award-winning website.  While that award was won back in 2019 it is still worth while hearing about it.  What follows is the media release from the website designers MadeKnown, who are very proud of the work they have done for our diocese.

You don’t have to travel to a big city to find a world-class brand agency

Local business MadeKnown has just won their 8th award – and 4th international award – taking out the Summit International Creative Awards Bronze with an impressive, intuitive website for the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton. The award category was entered by creative agencies worldwide and honours the best not-for-profit website.

MadeKnown may be local, but their team is global. Led by multi-award-winning production specialist Trent Siddharta (Managing Director) and award-winning designer and visual identity specialist Fiona Booker (Creative Director), MadeKnown is an agile team of world-class creatives, brand strategists and technicians. With members based in Sydney, London and beyond, MadeKnown assembles a tailored team to precisely meet each of their clients’ needs without the large-agency overheads. In Trent’s words, the agency aims to: “prove that high calibre creative work can be achieved anywhere, regardless of location or time zone.” And the proof is in the award-winning website.

The Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton came to MadeKnown with quite a problem on their hands: their website was clunky and confusing, with important information difficult (and at times impossible) to find. MadeKnown ran a workshop with the Local Bishop, Reverend Michael Fabian McCarthy, and his team to unearth what the client and their website visitors most needed from the site, partnering with them to come up with creative solutions. The new website designed by MadeKnown is beautiful and a pleasure to navigate for the more than 200 visitors it caters to each day: it no longer feels overwhelming, despite containing the same vast amount of information. The new site features a sophisticated search function, easy to find mass times, online donation system and allows the more than 30 different parishes to update their own info via separate dashboards.

Dean Smith, Director of Diocesan Services was incredibly happy with the website, saying, “We have been extremely impressed with the quality of service … and I would happily recommend MadeKnown to anyone.”

MadeKnown offers a comprehensive service, from website design, logo design and brand development to integrated marketing campaigns. Trent defines the agency’s goal as: “to find unique creative solutions to solve their clients’ problems, not peddling the same products with a one-size-fits all mentality.”
