Benevolent Living Chapel Blessing

17 August, 2022
Jamie Langdon, Marketing & Communications Manager, Bishop Michael and Kevin Hogan, Chairman

On Wednesday, 20th July, Bishop Michael had the great pleasure of blessing the new Chapel at Benevolent Living.  The Chapel is part of the recent building upgrades at Benevolent Living which provides modern facilities for all who choose to live at Benevolent Living, and forms part of their overall re-brand to an innovative lifestyle approach.  The Chapel provides a space for residents to take some time out and to reflect and worship, no matter what their spiritual belief is.  Our local clergy will celebrate Mass in the Chapel on occasion for residents there.

A number of the residents gathered with the Bishop for the blessing and joined in singing together Amazing Grace to finish.  The Chapel was named after Mr Jim McCrae, who was the longest standing Chairman of Benevolent and was heavily involved in the Catholic Community in Rockhampton.

Following the blessing the Bishop shared morning tea onsite with the residents in the new café 1866, before joining with the Chief Executive Officer, Alison Moss, and Chairman, Kevin Hogan on a tour of the new facility which highlighted the new community spaces, art gallery and modern accommodation options.
