His Eminence Cardinal Peter Turkson, prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, has sent his greetings yesterday to Bishop Michael, and all the faithful who will engage in our YouTube live-stream this Sunday.
His Eminence recalled to all the faithful in our Diocese that, ‘the words of the fathers of the II Vatican Council that the preoccupation of the church with the social concern of humanity is something it took up right at the beginning and made it it’s own. This concern for the lowly has guided the church throughout the years in reaching out to the poor”. He expressed this as the reason why he had come to encourage us and say, ‘we had the support of the church and encouragement of the many who pray for the church to reach out to the poor and the lowly’.
