Incorporated under the Roman Catholic Trust Corporation for the Diocese of Rockhampton, CentacareCQ is the trading name for the welfare arm of the Catholic Church in the Diocese. CentacareCQ has Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status.
The CentacareCQ Council is responsible for the governance of CentacareCQ. In accordance with the Mission, Values and Philosophy of CentacareCQ the Council sets policy, leads significant strategy and oversees the strategic decisions and management activities of the organisation.
The CentacareCQ Council provides advice to the Bishop in relation to strategy and advises the Diocesan Director in relation to management and operational matters. The CentacareCQ Council is accountable to the Bishop. Members of the Council and the Chair are appointed by the Bishop for a period of time determined by the Bishop.
The CentacareCQ Council has two subcommittees, Finance and Risk Management, to support the governance. Members of sub committees of Council are appointed by the Council.
The CentacareCQ Finance Committee investigates, consults and advises on financial aspects of CentacareCQ’s operations. All CentacareCQ Finance Committee recommendations are considered through the CentacareCQ Council. The CentacareCQ Risk Management Committee investigates, consults and advises on risk management aspects of CentacareCQ’s operations. All CentacareCQ Risk Management Committee recommendations are considered through the CentacareCQ Council.
