14 December, 2022Memorial Service
During the year, whenever we have a funeral, a memorial cross with the person’s name is inscribed on a cross and hung on a board in the church. Then in November, at our Memorial Mass, the families of those who are died are invited to come to this Mass to receive this cross in their memory. At the beginning, as the deceased names are proclaimed, the families members come up and light a candle and at the end of the Mass they are given the candle and the cross.
We held this ceremony at the end of November and it was well attended – not only by those grieving for those who had passed in the last year but for any loved ones – which includes all our us.
May our passed loved ones continue to live in the love of God and in our hearts.
Sacraments
Fr Andrew Hogan delivered the Sacraments of Initiation to Angela Wilczek and her daughter Sophie earlier last month at Sacred Heart Church. Congratulations to you both, and we will keep you in our prayers as you commence your walk in a closer relationship with God.
Gatherings
Once again we held our two monthly ‘Meet in the Middle’, where both sides of our Parish come together in beautiful surroundings to reconnect with each other, share stories and have a laugh or two. We also gathered for morning tea after Mass last Thursday, to celebrate one of those special birthdays with one of our lovely parishioners Sue Coad. Many blessings for many more Sue!!
We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year, as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour. May we all take time to sit quietly and listen for the voice of Jesus, who came to speak life, healing, joy and peace into our world.
