The Catholic Community Fair is a collaborative of the parish and three schools, Marist College, St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s. It is the parish’s major fundraiser and a well-supported event on Emerald’s social calendar. With the potential thunderstorm looming over the event, increased insurance and workplace safety pressures – once again the Fair came together catering for the diverse makeup of the community. Coordinator, Francie Hartley was grateful to the school and parish communities for the many volunteers who helped at the event, but a special note of gratitude for the generosity of local business that sponsored the fair exceeding all past donations.
Emerald was sad to cancel Bishop Timothy Norton SVD Advent Recollection (Retreat) scheduled for early December but delighted in the appointment of Bishop Timothy as the New Bishop of Broome. Unfortunately, the Retreat clashed with commitments to his new appointment. Emerald is hoping to run a similar retreat in Lent.
Emerald is earnestly planning for Advent and Christmas seasons with the emphasis on peace and harmony.
