22 November, 2024Welcome Grant Sutherland
Grant will spend his Pastoral Year in our Parish arriving on January 25 and concluding on December 25. It is an opportunity for parishioners to renew their welcome to Grant who spent a few weeks with us in 2023. During his year with us Grant will join our ministries and take a vital part in all parish activities.
We assure Grant of our welcome and support as he rejoins our Parish community.
All Souls Day – Month of Holy Souls
A good crowd made the early Mass at the Cemetery. Similarly good numbers attended the other two Masses celebrated in the day. Thanks to the Friends of the Catholic Cemetery who served a welcome cuppa with food donated from Targo St Bakery. May we continue to remember our departed loved ones in prayer during the month.
Prayers will be held at the cemetery each Thursday in November at 9.30am.
St Mary’s Sunday School 7th Anniversary
In a prayerful and joyous evening on Saturday, November 2, the students of the school were presented with awards and then entertained all with a “Faith Fest” in which each year level performed on stage. It was a night of praise, thanks, joy and hope inspired by the learnings each group had achieved during the year. Bishop Michael was the special guest and he spoke of the Pope’s most recent Encyclical – “Dilexit nos – He has loved us”.
Congratulations to all award winners and to all who took part in the entertainment.
A fine supper concluded the evening.
Ministry Formation 2024
Ministry Formation was attended by Liturgical and Visitation Ministers. The six sessions were well attended and gave new and continuing ministers the opportunity to relook at their ministry and engage with fellow ministers.
How fortunate we are to have such strength in ministry.
