Bishop Michael’s Letter
22 November, 2024Dear brothers and sisters in Christ
The months of October and November are very full with various commitments. For many of our young people, it is their final weeks of school, and it has been a great joy connecting with many of our colleges for their awards nights, farewell dinners for our year 12 students and the end of year masses. My best wishes go to all our young people as they complete many years of secondary education.
I am so grateful to our marvellous teachers, staff and Principals, and I wish all a great and refreshing holiday. In February next year, I will be connecting with most of you as I will be travelling around the Diocese visiting our schools and colleges. Our schools and colleges are an extension of the outreach and evangelisation of our Diocese and are within each of the parishes. Catholic Education’s, through the Catholic Education Office, prime focus is assisting our young people to gain a Catholic education. The Parish community through its priests and parish ministries offer pastoral and sacramental care for the school community.
With this newsletter, I offer you my best wishes as you wind down for the end of the year, and wish you every blessing as we enter the season of Advent and await the birth of the Prince of Peace one more.
