Housekeeper – The Haven, Emu Park
Nestled on over four hectares of manicured grounds in Emu Park, The Haven offers breath taking views over Keppel Bay and the Southern Great Barrier Reef. The Housekeeper assists in cleaning The Haven facilities and common areas to a high standard to ensure the satisfaction of guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained
- Check stock levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitise toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area
- Clean mirrors and other glass surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and disposing of waste
- Ensure all items are stored properly
- Be responsible for all basic cleaning in and around residences and office buildings
- Clean floors and rooms, including dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot clean glass and windows
- Clean restrooms, includes restocking dispensers, clean and sanitise fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls
- Transport dirty linens to correct area to be cleaned and restock areas with clean linen
- Assist with function, event preparations, including set up and pack down
- Clean outdoor areas when required
- Identify and report any damages to property
- Assist in scheduled maintenance cleaning when required
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
- Perform additional duties as needed
You will possess the following:
- Previous tourism/hospitality cleaning experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- Active participant in the Catholic Church community and/or lifestyle compatible with the values and teachings of the Church
- Understanding of and commitment to the Diocesan Vision Statement and Values
- Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic Social Teachings
- Ability to provide a criminal history record check clear of convictions that relate to the inherit requirements of this position and obtain a Queensland Working with Children (Blue Card) Check, if requested
- Ensure ongoing disclosure of any criminal charges or allegations (current or historic), as soon as possible after such charges come to the employee’s attention and in accordance with the Personnel Screening Policy as amended from time to time. Failure to comply with this ongoing obligation to disclose may lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal
- Current “C” class motor vehicle driver’s licence
- Flexibility with rostered times
