Catholic Education is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton, from which it derives its purpose and meaning. Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton is committed to high-quality teaching and learning in the Catholic tradition.

Currently, there are over 16,500 students who are enrolled in our Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Colleges from Bundaberg to Mackay and west to Longreach.  Catholic Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Colleges are founded on a strong Catholic ethos enabling the spirit of Jesus Christ to permeate all aspects of life in our educational communities.

Catholic schools play an essential role in the Church’s educational mission by witnessing to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and by being welcoming and inclusive of all.

Catholic schools have a special and vital role in providing a learning environment that is spiritually nurturing, intellectually challenging and emotionally caring. Catholic school communities aim to assist students to become lifelong learners so that they will be able and willing to envision and contribute to the creation of a just, equitable and compassionate world.

Here in the Diocese of Rockhampton, our Catholic schools strive not just to be different but to make a difference in the lives of the young people entrusted to our care.

The Diocesan Director for Catholic Education is Miss Leesa Jeffcoat.
